Crescent began in 1922 as a Presbyterian mission, becoming part of the United Church three years later when Canada’s Methodist, Congregationalist, and most of its Presbyterian Churches came together to form Canada’s largest Protestant denomination. Liberal in theology, the Crescent congregation has a strong commitment to social justice and spiritual growth. We contribute generously to both local and national church outreach programs and maintain close links with our sister community in El Salvador. We believe primarily in the love of God. We are seeking to bring positive inclusive message of God's love to our community. An essential belief is that no one is excluded from the love of God. We know that our lives and the world are not perfect but we affirm the message that Jesus proclaimed that the kingdom of God is both already here and being formed by the Holy Spirit and gather people at Crescent and every other community of faith. We have an active Christian Education program spanning all age groups and welcomes all fellow travelers on life’s spiritual journey to participate in its life and fellowship. |
