Crescent United offers a welcoming place to explore faith and life issues. Our services are casual, energetic and inspiring. We gather for worship on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. Our minister is Bill Booth. At Crescent United Church the music is led by our choirmaster, David. What a Worship Service Will Look Like at Crescent United Church Our worship follows The United Church the Revised Common Lectionary, which includes the Daily Revised Common Lectionary. Crescent follows traditional patterns of worship in a relaxed, informal setting. Wear whatever is comfortable—just come and worship with reverence and joy. You’ll sit and stand, sing hymns (religious songs) projected overhead at the front of the sanctuary or if you prefer we have hymnals in the pews. We print everything you need to know about the worship service in our order of worship leaflet. This will help you to know when to stand and what will happen next. We have communion 6 times a year. All people seeking a deeper knowledge and fuller love of God are welcome to receive communion, including children. We vary the types of communion service from serving in the pews to going to the communion stations throughout the sanctuary. When using communion stations, ushers will indicate when you should exit your pew if you want to have communion. At the station, hold your hands in front of you, palms upward; a server will give you a small piece of bread to eat and then another will offer you the chalice so you can take a small sip of juice. Children generally go downstairs to have a more age appropriate experience of our community of faith and enjoy fellowship with children in their own age group. The coffee follows the service, and once a month we have Soup Sunday when we have a chance to meet new people and say hello to old friends. Come and join us.
