Crescent United Church Vesper Services

The Crescent United Church Jazz Vespers program brings together amazing musicianship and holy inspiration for a service of prayer, meditation. 

Music is at the very centre of our Spirituality.  We could imagine that hunters gatherers sitting around the fire after the long day’s hunt drumming, chanting and singing and telling stories to  commune with the Holy.  Music, story and prayer are part of spiritual DNA.  At our monthly Jazz Vespers we interlace music, story and prayer in effort to touch sacred within us all 

By it’s very nature, Jazz Music with its improvisation, draws a person into the moment.  In our Jazz Vesper services every musician seems to transcend the ordinary and prepare us to approach the sacred.  While other music will do this as well, Jazz, is particularly suited for this process.

 Our Jazz vespers provide an opportunity to experience great Jazz Music of various styles and simple reflections to help us on our journey to and with the Holy One.  We hope you will join us for an evening of Music and Spirituality.  Come and see what you might experience on the evenings of the First Sunday of the month.
